A soldier from Tumauini, Isabela died Fighting in Marawi City

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines - Another gallant soldier paid the ultimate sacrifice CPL (corporal) Edelmer Eugenio of Tumauini, Isabela, Cagayan Valley died fighting in Marawi City on July 22, 2017.

As the government troops advancing their position CPL Eugenio was shot and died in Mapandi Bridge. There are many soldiers wounded in retaking the bridge.

CPL Eugenio is set to marry his girlfriend Mae Ann Barro Rivero on December this year (2017). His girlfriend is from Isabela, Basilan an OFW (Overseas Filipino Workers) in Denmark.

"Ilang beses na ring na-postpone ang kasal, eto, talagang di na matutuloy" statement of his brother.

Corporal Eugenio's remains is expected to be brought home today (July 23, 2017) by a PAF (Philippine Air Force) C-130 plane to Cauayan, Isabela and were met at the airport by the family of his company commander, Cpt (captain) Talosig, who was himself wounded on June 15.

The war is not yet over as more troops died fighting for peace in Marawi City, 100 grieving families, thousands of evacuees, and millions of collateral damages.
