Slain 12-year-old in Pasay condo carnage tried to fight off attacker

One of the victims of Alberto Garan, the man who ran amuck inside a Pasay City residential condominium, was a 12-year-old school girl who tried to fight off the stabbing attack.

According to Oscar Oida's report on "24 Oras", Daisery Castillo suffered cuts on her arms—a sign that she tried to fend off Garan.

Daisery's mother Grace was beside herself in both grief and anger.

"Nakita po siya 'nung lalaki na 'yun, hinablot siya at pinagsasaksak. Tumakbo ang anak ko, hinabol niya pa," Grace said.

"Sobrang sakit po 'yung hirap ng anak ko, kung ilang tama ang anak ko, hindi siya naawa sa bata, walang laban," she added.

Daisery suffered stab wounds on her face, chest and underarms.

"Nadamay pa siya, dapat siya nalang, dapat sarili nalang niya ang pinagsasaksak niya," Grace said.

Grace shared that she was inside the condo unknowing that her daughter was in danger in the hallway.

Daisery was on her way home when the 35-year-old man chased her with a kitchen knife.

Prior to the incident, Garan got into an argument with his girlfriend Emelyn Sagun, who he later stabbed and threw from the 14th floor staircase.

The body landed on the basement.

The suspect went around the building attacking other tenants until the police neutralized him on the 22nd floor.

Six were killed in the incident, including Garan.
