LOOK: BUREAU OF CUSTOMS CONFISCATED PHP 521.93 MILLION WORTH OF FAKE BRANDED CLOTHES AND SHOES !!

Hundreds of boxes of fake clothing and shoes were confiscated Thursday by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) in Pasay City, which is valued at PHP 521.93 million.

Brands included were Nike, Adidas, Lee, and Crocs. There are also some non-branded watches confiscated. Information comes from a concern citizen.

Lita Liao was the owner of the warehouse where fake shoes and clothing were seized. According to Lita Liao, she only rented out her warehouse to Mr. Ang, Mr. Gee and Mr. Ty.

In the meantime, the suspects were not arrested because they were not around during the raid operation. They will be subject to a violation of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act in relation to Republic Act 8293 or the Intellectual Property Code.

BOC Chief Isidro Lapeña already gave a warning. Customs operations will continue to prevent smugglers. “The raid was part of BOC’s continued operations against all forms of smuggling of counterfeit goods to protect the consumers and the legitimate business community in general,” said Lapeña.
